Hullo! I've been diagnosed with PCOS as of last week. I've been in denial for years- I've had doctors suspect it, and I've had the severe cyst burst which led to what LOOKED like a miscarriage at the time- last week my dr. explained what that was. I've had a miscarriage that ended my first marriage, but am now married to a most fabulous man who understands and supports me through this- even though he doesn't understand whatever "it" is.
I ran across these forums while trying to find more about a low glycemic index diet. And I'm so glad I did! I've tried to deny that I have been trying to battle this nightmare solo in vain for years, despite the whiskers on my face and chest, the acne, the thinnish (my hair dressers are always kind and say "fine") hair, the weight around my middle that I just can't-get-rid-of. I'm hopeful of meeting other women who struggle, AND CONQUER! this, with help from various sources, including each other.

Hi there, Im new around here too and I was diagnosed as of the 27th of Sept. so probably around the same time as you perhaps. I have the same symptoms as you, acne, weight gain in the middle, irregular periods, hair on my chin, chest and happy trail.. all that typical symptoms except for the cysts. My situation is a little different, at the time I was being tested my Endocrinologist was also testing me for Cushing's Syndrome.. I also have typical symptoms of Cushings as well so having been diagnosed with PCOS was a relief to me, lol! Sounds weird but it really was. Anyway, now Im just trying to cope with it all and this seems like a really great and informative place.
