Default New girl that needs a friend...

Hi Girls.

Hope I'm posting this in the right place, my apologies if I haven't!

I hope you don't mind but I could do with all the support I can get at the moment and you seem like the perfect people as your more likely to understand!

I'll briefly explaine my story, hope that's ok too!!

I was first diagnosed with PCOS in January 2005. The nurse that carried out the tests & Scans said it was one of the worst cases she had seen and to try not to get too hopeful! Didn't help much as I knew nothing about PCOS!

I was referred and was told I would be unable to conceive on my own and I would certainly need IVF treatment. I went to the first appointment and pretty much took leave of all my senses and was hysterical for best part of the following week, eventually discharging myself. I threw myself into wedding plans to try and forget about it all.

About a week before we got married (aug 05) I got what we thought was a stomach bug but the sickness continued for 2 weeks after the wedding!

My poor long suffering mum took her life in her hands and brought me a pregnancy test. After throwing a great big hissy fit about 'how could she do this to me when she knew what the doctor's had said', she finally talked me into doing the test. Which came back positive in seconds..... How do mum's know this stuff?!?!?!

I had some spotted bleeds during the first 4 months of the pregnancy but all went well and my little fella was born on 30th April 2006 @ 6lb6oz!

Fast forward to November 2007 and we found out I was pregnant for the second time! Unfortunately my hormones were all over the place and my blood started clotting badly. I ended up with a blood clot lodged in my lung and spent 8 days in intensive care having treatment to clear it before it burst and killed me!

They did scan me before I was discharged and the baby was fine, still heart beating strong and I'd made it to through.

I went for my dating scan in early January 2008 and was told the baby had died. I hadn't had any bleeding up till then, but it started almost the second I knew! I was sent home to miscarry naturally and was rescanned 10 days later to make sure everything had gone.

Just when I thought I was getting myself back together we found out I was pregnant for the third time - April 2008! Not bad for someone who can't conceive naturally!!

I started bleeding last Friday! In a fit of tears and blind panic we went straight up to the hospital! I had an internal scan and in about 7 weeks and the babies heart is still beating a present. Over the weekend I've stared to get the cramps as well as the bleeding, its not looking great but I'm keeping everything crossed and praying for a miracle.

My hubby is doing his best but he doesn't really know what to say and neither do I. Besides that my hormones are buggered again and that obviously isn't helping either.

I'm really sorry to depress you all first thing on a Monday morning but I could really do with the support of people in a similar situation. I hope that's ok.

Love & Hugs to you all!

Vicky xxxx

Hi Sian,

Nope, no meds..... last course was metformin and that was 2 months before I had my son who has just turned 2!

I have been reading up thou and there has been a load of research done in the USA regarding keeping woman on metformin throughout there pregnancy to regulate hormones that cause mutated chromo zones?!

I've got a dating scan due on 29th of this month, so fingers crossed I make it to then!

Thanks for all the replies girls! Its much appreciated!

hi, welcome to SC! I've only been on here since september, but I ask a LOT of questions, and no one's ever told me not to, so you should feel free to tell us whatever you want, and ask what ever kind of questions you are curious about. After you are on this board for a while, you'll realize we don't avoid ANY topic, and we delve into ALL the "TMI" details, LOL.

I'll be your friend!!

Hello Vicky,

I send much sympathies for your previous loss. As well as many hopes and prayers for your current pg. I am recovering from ectopic PG currently so I understand the concerns for the bleeding.

You will find much support here, as I have in the short time I have been involved.
