Well I have gone through two nights now with extreme dreams and lack of sleep. This is the same problem I have with going above 1000mg before.
Really sucks.
I will keep at it this next week and see what happens.
I also noticed my foot hurts diferently now too.(long story)
Like I am getting a cramp in the toes!
That was one other side effect I have with Gluc.
I know I'm weird. My side effects are...
Anxiety
Insomnia
Muscle pain
Some potty issues.
I guess I will have to wait and see.

Sorry to hear you're suffering, sweetie. Insomnia on Met can be a sign of low blood sugar. Are you eating a snack or anything before bed? Diabetics who have low blood sugar at night often complain of trouble settling in. so make sure you're getting enough sugar in your system to keep you from going low.

Strange thing is I have noticed I have so many signs of diabeties but my tests are always normal (75-85)
I am DX - Mild Insulin Resistance.
When I asked my Dr last week about all this swelling and where it could be coming from, she asked about the Gluc.
But I felt the need to treat IR was stronger than the side effects.
But if I detirmine the Gluc is causing the swelling, that will change my mind!! My feet hurt so bad I want to cry by afternoon.
My rt foot has gotten worse starting the day after upping my dose again.
Usually when I up it, I have back or neck pain.(muscle)
So about the time I started dealing will swelling was also the time I started GlucXR 2 years ago.
I guess I will dig up the rare side effects of Gluc again and see if it is linked.
I just wish I could find someone who is going through this too.

Patti: I think ANY time something that serious coincides with starting Met, you need to talk to your Dr. PAIN is NOT a normal side effect of Met, and I hope you will have a serious talk with your Dr very soon. Met isn't for everybody, and i think you need to have a heart to heart with your Dr about if it is right for you.

I did stop Met all together.
I had a day off from work and my foot is better.
I have errends and I work for 5 hrs tonight and 8 hrs Tuesday.
That will give me a good showing of the pain levels.
I will base my decision on staying on or off it from there.
I have taken Gluc XR for over a year and a half.
I have never made it past 1000mg wth out lots of problems(mainly anxiety) But I did have marked problems with muscle pain.
But it would hit different places, so it was very hard to put it with the Met/Gluc.
We'll see,
