New and have questions Hello Ladies,
My name is Michelle. I'm 31 years old, and have a DD conceived via IVF-ICSI-mTESE. We initially did the IVF as my DH is azoospermic and needed surgical sperm retrieval.
Its been almost 2 years since the birth of my daughter and we are trying again. So far, I've had a bfn cycle, and a m/c. In my most recent attempt to do a frozen cycle, I responded strangely to the medications and developed a cyst on my ovary. Upon sonographic examination, the sonographer counted roughly 20 follicles on my ovaries (<10mm) in addition to the large cyst which measured 26mm. I have never suspected that I have PCOS until recently and am wondering if I should ask for a diagnosis. I am very thin, except I have a bit of a belly that I can never lose despite losing lots of weight. My body was always like that, even before I had DD, but it became worse afterwards, more pronounced. Since I've had the functional cyst, my estrogen has been elevated, I make globs of EWCM every day, and I can't stop eating (but I'm not gaining weight). I'm constantly hungry, starving actually. Although I rarely eat meat, I have high cholesterol too, the bad kind. Its been high since I was 12 and first tested it (back then it was in the 250s!, lately in the 220s).
Anyway, I'm so scared to add another issue to our already complicated list of TTC issues. I do have an RE but I don't know if he specializes in PCOS and may write me off because I'm so thin and don't present with the usual symptoms, also, I've always had a modest response to the IVF stimulating drugs.
Any ideas? Am I overreacting to ask for a blood work up?
Thanks,
Michelle |
