This is very useful website. I feel so happy that I am not alone!!
I never knew I had PCOS, the doctors never said anything to me. All I remember is my pediatrician saying to me that I would have difficulty having children. Then suddenly I went to see my gyne because I was having trouble getting pregnant and then he said I am not ovulating. He still didn't use the word PCOS. Then I got referred to a fertility specialist who finally said it and I thought I had this disease and I was going to die. He was not thorough at all!
My doctor told me to take Chlomid. My husband was with me and he asked about side-effects. The doctor told him there is a chance of cancer 10 years down the road. And now my husband doesn't want to have children at all He is very against it now.
Any ideas on how to deal with this situation? Are there any other alternatives?
Welcome to SC! Sorry you've had so many problems getting diagnosed correctly.
I'd suggest checking out the TTC (trying to conceive) board to find out what other alternatives are available. Clomid is not the only option (although I took it to conceive my daughter.) http://soulcysters.net/forumdisplay.php?f=42
Hi, first off I want to welcome you to Soulcysters.
There are LOTS of useful information here.
My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 8 years now. No kids yet, but one miscarriage. That was the one and only time I've been pregnant. I've been on Metformin now for over a year to get pregnant.
You could talk to your doctor about trying Metformin. Or there are MANY herbal and alternative medicines you could take. Check out the Alternatives board.
The possibilities are endless.
I'm supposed to go this month to start Clomid myself. But I've read a couple articles where it can cause cancer later on down the road. So now DH and I aren't too sure about it. Up until I read those articles I was excited about Clomid...
Good Luck, and hope to see you around.

Welcome to SC. The biggest thing I think is that you need to be informed about different treatments. Saren gave some good links to get started. You'll learn a lot here!!!!!!
I can help, this is what happened to me for 9 cycles no ovulation and temps were too high then I went on the IR diet eating all organic foods - protein from chicken, wild salmon and turkey jerky and if you click on my chart link you will notice a huge difference between my last two charts --- like my recent ovulation
