I wanted to say hi to everyone out here.I was referred by someone on Yahoo to check out this site and it is very informative. To make a long story short;my name is Wendy and I am 26 yrs old.I live in PA with my fiance whom I am marrying this May. I've just been diganosed with PCOS 2 weeks ago.I am insulin restistant and my TSH levels were extremely high.Indeed,my fiance and I want to start a family this year and my doctor told me to take Provera 10 mg for 10 days and now I am feeling the after effects of the medication( heavy menses).I will be starting fertility treatments on Feb 2nd,2006 and I was just wondering what everyones experience was going through fertility treatments and what medications was used.
I do hope to hear from everyone soon!
Welcome to Soulcysters! This really is a super site... look around , read some articles, meet some of the other wonderful women I live in PA too Congrats on your engagement!
I'm not trying to conceive at the moment, so I haven't gone through fertility treatments yet. I'm sure someone here can help you out though. Has your doc started you on any medication? (other than provera) for your IR or High Thyroid levels?
I hope everything goes well for you!
Again Welcome to the site!!

Hi Linni,
I am not on any other medications for IR or thyroid as the options will be discussed when I will visit my gynecologist on Thursday.Reason why I was on Provera was to stop the occasional bleeding I've for 2 months straight. After taking Provera for 10 days,I had started my menses and from someone who given me a insight it is like a chemical D&C that helps shed the lining. My other option as I was told by my fiance's mother ( who is a nurse) for treatments would be taking metformin or glucophage or some sort of birth control, but this is what my soon to be husband and I are trying to stay away from.
I am kind of nervous of what is going to happen but I am kind of anxious as well.
Thank you for your warm welcome and hope to see you around!

Hello Wendy and welcome to SC. This site is the best thing that has happened to me in a long time! I hope the same for you! I also had to take Provera for hte 10 days and totally understand what your going through, my peiod lasted me 10 days!! which I thought was crazy! I haven't done much more with any meds after that, though.
Well welcome and hope all your questions get answered!
Hi Wendy and welcome to SC. Take a look around and get familiar with the site and forums. There is a ton of info here.
Infertility and conceiving is different for every woman. Cysters have gotten pregnant by all sorts of meds and stuff.
