Hi everyone. My name is Emily. I was diagnosed last month. I am scared of the possibility of infertility. I am not yet trying to conceive. I am only 23, almost 24 and engaged. I am overweight and I have cysts. I have been on birth control for years so I don't know what my period is like off of them. I just wanted to say hello and I look forward to learning more and meeting new people.

First off, welcome to Soulcysters. I am a newbie too, just joined this month, but already I have been made to feel like part of the family by all the other cysters.
Congratulations on your engagement, BTW.
I just wanted to say that PCOS does not necessarily mean infertility. Obviously every one of us is different, but many of your fellow cysters have been able to fall pregant and bring some real beautiful children into the world. The proof is all around you, many of the cysters have their childrens photos tacked on to their signatures.
I'm not TTC either yet, but I will be soon. I'm just going to relax and take each day as it comes. This can be an uphill battle at times, but thanks to this forum it's a lot easier to prepare ourselves for what lies ahead.
Best wishes,

Thanks everyone. Right now I am just lurking around and reading up on some stuff. The Trying to Conceive forum scares me and I cried because I was stupid enough to click on the Miscarriage forum. I do feel welcome here. It's weird to feel so at home so quickly.

I haven't been visiting this site for long, but I've found that I am becoming "addicted" to reading the posts every night!!!! You'll definitely enjoy meeting people with common concerns and issues.
We are all here for you....

Welcome to sc!! I'm sure that you will feel at home here ~ everybody here is truly wonderful and i've learnt a LOT from my cysters in the 3 months that i've been part of sc.
And then CONGRATS ON THE ENGAGEMENT!!! WHOOOOHOOOO!!! I've been engaged for 6 months now (getting married in 5 months!) and there are a couple of us (engaged cysters) who started a thread, here is the link: http://www.soulcysters.net/brides-2-...4/index18.html
It's a place where we talk of our wedding plans, our h2b's (husbands-to-be) and just generally support one another with wedding/life/pcos. We'd love it if you would join us on there!
I've also read some of the ttc & miscarraige thread's and the break my heart bec that might be me in a few months BUT (and this is a HUGE BUT) having pcos DOES NOT mean that you are automatically infertile ~ just read the Mommy's forum and you will see TONS and TONS of pcos women who have concieved not just once, but multiple times!! Perhaps you will have to get treatments that your friends/family didn't have to get ~ but you can get pregnant while you have pcos!
Hang in there and welcome once more and I really hope to see you on our engaged thread!!
