Hi Everyone. I am new here, but I have had the diagnosis for a few years now. I just haven't done much about it. After heavy periods and lots of misery, I decided to get a new gyn. and they did some bloodwork. Well, insulin levels and sugar levels were off along with my testosterone was sky high. (over double what it is supposed to be)
So my questions are:
She put me on Metformin and everywhere says it will help me lose weight. How? Just by decreasing my appetite?
She said that I could possibly have some type of tumor that is releasing testosterone, so they drew blood again. I have already had an ultrasound, but it showed nothing significant. Anyone else have any experience with this?
im not sure exactly what it is with metformin but it may be becase of the things u can and cant eat on it - sugar and high carbs and greasy fod can give u REALLY bad tum upsets lol so we tend to stear clear - and as i have learnt today crisps and oj lol x

I hope you're feeling well on your met. I think it helps by decreasing appetite (at least for me it did) as well as helping the insulin and blood sugar problems that make it so difficult for us to lose weight. Best wishes, I hope it works well for you!
Let us know what you find out from your bloodwork, I hope everything is OK.
Hugs
Jenny

Unfortunately, I can't help with your question, the women on here are great though and I wanted to welcome you and let you know that I am here if you ever need a cyster.
