still waiting

I have never writen on a "board or a thead" before so I'm not even sure what to write. My husband and I were married in 2000. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism when I was 18 years old (1993) and have been on meds ever since. (synthroid 125 mcg). My husband and I tried get pregnant for a year and them saw a "specialist". I was on clomid for about 6 months and nothing happened. At that point I didn't feel emotionally strong enough for any more exploring as I already felt poked and proded and down on myself enough. We decided to adopt and now have 3 beautiful children 7 years, 5 years and 4 years old. We are back on the list to adopt but would also love to conceive naturally and I feel stonger and less vulnerable now that we ahve been blessed with our 3 amazing children. Anyway, I reccently under went a laparascopy with dye injection and was found to have pcos. My periods arrive monthly every 30-32 days with severe cramping. This month however, I am at day 39 adn still waiting. I took a pregnancy test day 32 and got a negative. Should I take another? Is it possible I'm pregnant? Can I get a false negative? Do I need to have a blood test to confirm a pregnancy? I thought I had read somewhere that the hormone that confirms pregnancy is or could be absent? I don't know? Any and all advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

If you have been diagnosed with PCOS, it is likely your period will be late every now and then.
Although some woman get negative pregnancy tests when they are pregnant, it isn't that common.
Having done numerous treatments over the years, I know it's tough to face the negative, when you so much want it to be positive. However I do hope you get your BFP sooner rather than later.
Where abouts in Canada are you? Which specialist are you working with? There are many doctors out there that can do further testing and treatments to help you.
