Smile New here!

Hello all! I am new to this group. I have PCOS and have for about two years. I have had a tubal after one pregancy due to complication. I have a beautiful six year old daughter that I thank God for everyday. I have a nine year old step-daughter, a seven week old lab puppy, and a great husband....most days. I am twenty-five years old and teach special education at the local elementary school. When I was first diagnosed with PCOS I was given metformin (SP?). I took it for about a week and my liver began to have problems, so I was taken off of it until more test could be run on my liver. I think I am finally ready to begin the road again. My husband and I have really talked about it and I have really researched the pros and cons. I have decided that on Monday I am going to call my endocronlogist and set up an appointment. I have gained almost 50lbs in the past year and am not feeling just wonderful about myself. I have never been skinny skinny, but have never been this overweight. I feel like I am fighting an uphilll battle within myself, but I know that God has allowed be to be blessed with finding others that have to same feelings to help me on my journey. So I look forward to meeting all of you!

Jacqueline

Welcome! Hope you find all the help you need here.
I also piled on weight without overeating and feel like I'm getting nowhere. I am going to a dietician at the moment have lost some weight but its taking forever.
I have a referral to see an endocrinologist so fingers crossed I will get appointment fast, and I get to the botttom of this.
PCOS is such a hard illness to deal with but only advice can give is don't give up, I'm sure I will find a solution to the weight issue, besides the obvious.
Have you been in chat yet?
You might get good advise there, you are at the right place to educate yourself.
