Hi my name is Keasha. I am 26 years old. I have been married for 8 years. My husbands name is Tony. We have two children together, Aleasha 4 years, and Dakota "Koty" 5 1/2 months. I have had PCOS since I was 15 that is when I got my initial dx. I have always struggled with my weight. Before I got pg with my dd I had lost a lot of weight. I got down to 155 pounds. I got pregnant with my daughter on herbs. I developed pre-eclampsia and toxemia while pg with her and gained 100 pounds. I was on the bcp when I became pg with my son. He was a total surprise but a pleasent surprise. Since I had not lost any weight from my pg with my daughter I was put on a limit of gaining 15 pounds. With him I only gained about 25 and I am struggling on losing that. Since I have never been treated for PCOS just always the dr. would put me on bcp I have finally found someone to listen to me. A different dr. delivered my son and she has taken an interest in me. She ordered a ton of blood tests and she has reffered me to an Endo.. I am really excited about going to see the Endo.. I don't know why I just am. LOL
I hope to make good friends on this board.
GOD Bless you all!
Hi, I am new here as well. I can tell you that I went to the gyno in April regarding getting tired of missing my period and she did blood work and dx me with PCOS. The only thing she did was say here take some progesterone for 3 months and if on the 4th month you don't get your period we will do something else. She never explained anything to me. Needless to say I will not be going back to her. The best thing I did was see and endocrinologist. The first visit lasted about 45 min., she tested me for Cushings because of having hypothyroidism and previously being on prednisone she ruled Cushings out. The Dr I saw was very thorough and she immediatley put me on Metformin starting at 500 mg per day and I am currently working my way up to 2000 mg a day. I cannot wait to see some results, it has only been 2 1/2 week, but reading some stuff on here looks promising. Good Luck!

I have hoping that my endo appointment goes as well as yours. And I know all to well about having a doctor treating people like that. It is a shame. Good luck to you!
