Hi! I am new to this site, but I was diagnosed with PCOS a little over a year ago. However, I probably have had it since I was 17. When I was 17 my cycles became very irregular, so my doctor prescribed bcps. I had been taking those until I was 24 and my husband and I decided to ttc. My previous doctor had said that after taking the bcp my cycles might return to normal, but alas, they did not. When I stopped taking them, my cycles went back to their strangeness

So I can go for 6 months or so with nothing, and then a really long period (for a month).
Well, it's officially been a year now of ttc without 'medical intervention,' so I've scheduled a gyn apt for next week. My doctor says we'll start with metformin. I'm a little nervous!
It is nice to know that I am not alone in this, though. No one in my family has it, and quite a few of my friends have been having babies left and right, ha ha! Good luck, everyone!
