Hi. I've heard of soulcysters for a long time, but never checked it out until now. Thought I'd join and see what its like. Here's my story:
Diana (30), Trevin (31), Will (5), Logan (18 months). I'm a temporarily retired middle school teacher who is mostly a stay-at-home mom. I do work PT as a dental assisstant (like 12 hours a week). After years on and off BCP, I finally decided it was time to start ttc. No AF even after trying to jump start it with progesterone. Tried 6 months of CLomid (up to 150mg). Last month, it worked miraculously. Will was born almost 6 wks. early due to preeclampsia! fast forward 2 years and we decide to start ttc again. Had my IUD taken out (I had regular AF during those 2 yrs and the IUD was not hormonal) and no AF. Tried jump starting again with progesterone...still no AF. Tried Clomid again...progesterone levels still way low (even convinced my doc. to up me to 200mg with no luck). Saw an RE who was terrible! Finally went and saw another RE..and he took one look at me and said PCOS. I had never heard of it before. Started met. (1500mg) and one month later added Clomid with no luck. Found out I had scar tissue in my uterus, had lap. to remove that. Was planning to start injectibles with next cycle..but it never came. I was PG! After several u/s, they found out that I was actually pg during the lap. surgery, but they think it was in that small window between conception and implantation...so we welcomed Logan into the world! In the last 18 months, I've been VERY irregular. About 8 months ago, I had a bunch of b/w done and it showed mostly normal levels of everything. I am IR and my good chol. was too low. My testosterone levels were within normal, but at the high end of normal. At this point, I am not getting AF at all (I did progesterone to bring on a fake one in Feb). We are up-in-the-air about another child. At the moment, we are doing nothing to prevent it, but not exactlly ttc either. If it happens, so be it! I am currently on 2000mg of metformin. I am terrible about remembering it and have only decided since mid March to actually bother with it. Haven't seen any signs of improvement yet. I joined an expensive gym and have lost 9lbs since mid March (Im sure the met. is helping that). That's about it. I look forward to getting to know all of you.
