I was able to get pregnant with a combination of Clomid, Metformin, and Acupuncture. We will start TTC in the fall. Glad to be here!

Points: 215.64 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 215.64 | Hi everyone, im new here too, its about time ive gotten in touch with pcos forums because i was diagnosed with Pcos 6 years ago when i was only 15 years old. Being 20 now I know it may seem a bit early for me to worry about having children but lately it is all i think about. I am in a serious relationship and we've just started trying last month, but till now with no success.
So my story is this: i always had a regular period, infact i got my first period at the age of 9. But i was also becoming quite hairy and had a few spots on my face, something just clicked and my mother sent me for scans and bloodtests. It resulted that i had tiny cysts on my ovaries-the conculsion being pcos. Ive been on the contraceptive pill ever since, but stopped it now that i want a baby.
I should also tell you that last year during a routine ultra sound they discovered a begnin fibroid in my uterus. I had major surgery to have that removed and fingers crossed since then ive had no complications or re-growths but it was such a hard time in my life.
Ever since that operation ive wanted to try for a baby, praying that another fibroid wouldnt grow back.
Now that ive stopped the pill, my cycle seems to have continued to be normal, apart from the fact that my cycle is now 5 weeks long. I even check my cervical discharge and find that sticky discharge for about 24 hours during my mid-cycle being an indication of ovulation. Even though we tried during my mid-cycle, i got my period a week ago, which was a bit of a let down but at the same time a relief as its indicated im ovulating.
Ive read on some websites that it is possible to get a period but to not have ovulated, which is worrying me a bit and i would like to research more about that. It just makes this condition seem impossible.
Anyways this is a new month and for me its another chance to try and get pregnant. It may be a bit risky to try and do this all on my own but i think its worth a try. It would be ideal for me to do all this with the help of my gynie but i dont want to go on medications for now and would like to see if i could do this on my own, im hoping for the best.
this website is a great help as i love reading everyone's stories and finding out new things about Pcos which affects so many of us in a physical as well as emotional way.
any comments or info regarding the periods without ovulating are greatly apprecaited! thanks. |

My doctor even put me on famera, but still no ovulation. She then referred me to a specialist and I never made an apointment to go. I want to loose some weight before I have to go on anymore medication. Someone once told me that as long as you are having a period, you are ovulating. I guess thats not true.
