Default New Here-Need Advice

I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2005.

At the beginning of this April, I started taking Glucophage at 500 mg.. Finally after many, many months, I got my period towards the end of April/start of May. In the start of May, I was increased to 1000 mg.. Then, towards the end of May, I was increased again to 1500 mg. (supposed optimum dosage amount & in which ovaluation should begin). In June, however, I did not get my period. This past weekend, I did get my period.

How many more months should I wait to have regular cycles/ovulate before my husband & I "officially" start trying to conceive? Also, should I begin an ovulation kit? I guess I need some help knowing how to "officially" start, too (besides the obvious way, of course!).

Any & all help would be greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't wait if I were you. Might as well try in the meantime because you never know when you'll o. It would help to chart your temps (you may find out then when/if you o) and to track your cervical mucous. Try o kits, just beware that they're not always accurate for cysters.

Additionally, make sure you're eating well (try an IR diet) and exercising. And take a prenatal vitamin.

Please pm me if you would like any help!

Go forth and start trying.

I second the IR style diet and defiantely at least be taking folic acid in vitamin form.

Good luck and *****baby dust***** to you!

(BTW- it took me to 2000 met for me to ovulate as I am a much fluffier cyster, don't be afraid to ask for a bump in dose after 6 mos of no results)

Thanks to all of you for each one of your advice/thoughts. I am so grateful.

Just a note-I have been taking Prenate (pre-natal vitamin) since end of May (heard it takes about 3 mos. to reach full effects) & just joined fertility friend.com last night. Took my first temp this morning. These are the first of many steps I guess...exciting but...still a little nervous...not even sure why!

Well, thank you all a million! Hope to be able to provide my advice/thoughts to you all sometime in the near future.

Take Care.
