Default New here and new to PCOS

Hey everyone... well I am not officially diagnosed, but the doctor suspects. He ordered tons of bloodwork today (my arm really hurts ) and we are moving forward... I see my Obgyn this friday and I guess I am not sure what do to next. Honestly I am relieved, but I am not sure whats the next step. I pretty much laid it all on the table for my doctor today and he said, wow, I think this is what we are dealing with. My husband and I are not ready to have kids yet, but that part is of major concern because we would like to start trying next summer.... any advice?? Thanks!!!

Hey welcome...just take it one day at a time. It is rough, but we are all here for each other through everything. A lot of us have been there and can help you through it and answer anything you might need answered. I have been suspected to have PCOS since 2004, but I was just diagnosed in March. My husband and I got serious about having a baby after ttc for 4 years and having no success. So I went to a doctor that I didn't even know specialized in PCOS. She happened to have PCOS herself, so she helped me out a lot and put me on Metformin. I haven't been on it long. Anyway, if you need anything just let me know...PM me or email me.

I was in your same boat a fews weeks ago. My GYN sent me to a RE and he ordered ALOT bloodwork (I just got the $400.00 insurance deductible bill)
He told me I have PCOS after he took an u/s. Alot od cysts and missed periods...but no other PCOS symptoms. I am sure your GYN will recommend a fertility specialist when the time is right. The RE will help you for sure....mine is getting us on the right track. Provera to get AF and Clomid to hopefully ovulate. The only beef I have is that my health insurance (Aetna) will only cover the diagnostic part of the PCOS. We already got the sonohistogram test done (it wasnt that bad) that was covered and my scripts were....but after that we gotta pay outta pocket.
Good Luck

Hello,

My doctor has suspected for quite some time that I have had metabolic syndrome. Now he officially believes that I have PCOS. I have most of the symptoms and felt alone until I found this website. Thank you all for sharing your stories. If you have any suggestions on taking care of myself, please let me know. Thank you : )
