New Here - New to PCOS and Hypothyroidism I am a 35 yr old obese female that was diagnosed with PCOS AND hypothyroidism just a few weeks ago. In fact, I just received the call this week that I did not have Cushings Disease.
I went to an endocrinologist on my own as I knew something was preventing my weight loss differently than it ever had before. I had a nutritionist tell me years ago about PCOS but I never asked my doctor about it.
My doctor has been absolutely amazing. I am now on both Metformin and Syntroid but it has only been a few days for the Synthroid. I have made my way from 1 pill a day to 4 pills a day on the Metformin.
I am really hoping that the meds help the depression and anxiety as well as the weight loss. I have never been an anxious or agitated person so any information anyone can share about their experiences would be great and very helpful.
I was VERY lucky to find a fantastic doc to explain everything very thoroughly and tested me very thorooughly as well. If any women are in the COlumbus, OH area and need a great endo, I can pass on the referral.
