Hi all! This is my first post here. I've been diagnosed with PCOS for the last 12 years. I've had surgery once becuase I had a cyst so large it ruptured my ovary. I've always done the bare minimum in terms of medications. I used BC for some of the time, tried some meds but the side effects outweighed the benefits forme & then used nothing for a lot of the time. My DR gave me provera recently to bring on a period. I've had provera a lot in the past & always had a period 2 days after stopping it. This time I did not have a period. The Dr called to say that he wanted me to come in but would elaborate any further.
So my question is: What does this mean? Has anyone else had this happen? I'm a little nervous & was wondering if anyone had any opnions? what's the next step for treatment?
Thanks!!!

I also did not have my AF on Provera. My doctor put me on Yaz and I'm 3 days into the placebo pills and have not started yet either. I'm not sure what it means, but doctors don't like it when you don't have an AF.
You can probably expect the doctor to put you on another hormone pill, either BCP or other. I'm not sure what else to expect, just letting you know I'm going through the same situation.
Thanks so much! I appreciate it. I've been kind of worried about it. I'm not too concerned about trying new meds, but I wasn't too eacited about a D&C or something like that! Thanks again!

I have taken provera in the past and it didn't work either. I didn't want to be on bcp so they gave to a shot of progestrone and oil and it worked.
I don't think it is unusual for provera to work... also some drs prescribe 5mg for 5day and some prescribe 10mg for 10 days. I always had to the the latter.
Welcome to soulcysters.

Thanks Dani! That makes me feel a little better. I don't really want to go onto BCP again either. I will mention the injection to him. I was afraid it meant an instant visit for a D &C. lol
Thanks for the welcome too!
