It's a large cyst. don't know any other details now. PCP is getting me refered to and OB/GYN ASAP and talking about surgery. Mom left last night so today is my first day home alone since the downward spiral started. Trying to keep busy and offline because I need the sunshine. Will check back with updates.

Surgery is scheduled for next Tues. I'm nervous but glad something is going to be done and maybe i'll start to feel better.
On another note, doc added abilify to my already large collection of meds and i'm been a zombie all day. I cannot keep my eyes open for long without dozing off.

Ok so now either i've gone manic or meds changed something because i've been up since 6am (went to bed close to 2:30am) doing laundry and cleaning out all our closets. I'm packing away winter clothes for when we move so they'll be out of the way as well as getting rid of several boxes of clothing I have that either doesn't fit or I just don't wear/need. I feel like my eyes don't want to focus on anthing for very long. Has anyone experienced anything like that? It's really hard for me to keep my eyes on what i'm typing and read it right now.

I go through a "cleaning phase" every so often right before AF. It is usually right after I O, but it is not each time.

Carrie,

I am glad to hear that you are ok. I am sorry they had to take the one ovary. Like you said, it is good the other one is healthy.

Take care and get some rest!

I am happy that you are ok. Trust me when I tell you that it is never too late to get healthy. Being on this website shows that you are ready to make changes in your life. You have people here when you need us. We have gone through similar events in our lives. I have found that there is usually at least one person that has been where you have been . I have also had a history of drug use. It is hard sometimes when you feel alone. Just do what you r doing (by writing on here) and you will start to feel better. I find that when I work out and I am feeling down. I start to feel better

Carrie,

Wow! What an ordeal.
I'm 28, PCOS Bipolar II, among a few other things.
I was the "addict" before too. Started with pot when I was a teenager then advanced to coke. I never knew why I couldn’t control myself or my thoughts and I was fat. I was always the big bad party girl through my 20's. When I saw a doctor I was told I was depressed and given meds that in a few days to a week made me off the wall hyper and out getting high or drinking myself sick. I finally was diagnosed as Bipolar so I got some help with meds trying to control my moods. I don't know but to me it seems like no meds will ever completely work, I mean the body does what it wants. Unless you’re heavily sedated you’re going to be manic every now and then.

Funny, I read about your manic moment cleaning out all of your closets and stuff. I woke up Sunday not able to sleep the entire night through. I got up at the crack of dawn and started pulling huge boxes of crap out of the closets and just throwing stuff away. Pictures of people no longer in my life and so much crap. It is amazing how much junk two people can have. I live with my boyfriend too, well, he's my fiancé but he is still married to his ex.... makes allot of sense right? It’s hard to find people that have a story close to yours and I identify with yours. Even your name "theghettopirate" cracks me up!

I can't give you any real advice; I still struggle with the addiction thing, now its prescription meds like vicodene or Xanax. I get migraines too so I'm kept in stock. I don't eat healthy or excersize like I should. I'm 5'8 and 245 pounds so I'm huge. LOL
But if you want to talk I'm all ears or eyes or whatever.

oh no- you should not be on Depakote! It is known for causing PCOS in people that have nothing wrong. I can't believe your doctor would do that. It causes wieght gain and blood sugar problems and messes with your hormones. Check online. There has to be a better one to take. My doctor is careful about what to give me and avoids that completey. (I am on Lithium & Lamictal.)

Thanks for your concern but I have a team of doctors i'm working with, was diagnosed with PCOS long before I ever started depakote. Remember meds that work well for some are hell for others. Lithium still scares the hell out of me.
