Well i swear i never had any of these symptoms until after i had my son 16 months ago.... After i had my son i started to feel off and first blamed it on the hormones, then breastfeeding, then my doctor sent me to a therapist and she said i had PPD, then the IUD, then getting back to normal after the IUD.... So maybe 3 months ago i decided that something just wasn't right with me and began doing research on the internet with my symptoms and determined that i most likely had some type of hormonal imbalance. So i scheduled an appt with my OB and she ran a very big series of bloodtests and called me yesterday to tell me that my insulin levels were a bit of a concern and something else, which means i have PCOS. LOVELY! (being sarcastic here)
So now i go in on August 1st to discuss treatment! What should i expect?
In case you are wondering here are my symptoms
* I lose tons of hair daily
* Moody
* Irritable
* My insulin levels were up recently in a blood test i had done
* I sweat like crazy- something i never ever did
* I get extremely hot even when it is like 80 degrees outside
* I get severe headaches 2 weeks before my menstrual cycle
* Get severe menstrual cramps
* Feeling down in the dumps for no reason at all
* Fuzzy cloudy brain
* Acne
* Irregular periods
* Very difficult time losing weight
* and i over feel like i aged tremendously- my body aches randomly
Oh and BTW my name is Jenn, i am 25 years old, have been married 3 years to my husband victor, and have a 16 month old son named Christian who i conceived without any trouble after my first pregnancy which was a miscarriage.
Hi, Jenn,
Welcome to the forum.
One of the things you should definitely schedule when you go to your dr's appt is to have an ultrasound done on your ovaries to see if there are any cysts.
Also, I would suggest they run a blood test to rule out hypothyroidism. Some of the symptoms of hypothyroidism can mimic that of PCOS, such as hair loss, irregular periods, depression, irritability, muscle cramps (which can include menstrual cramps), etc.
The way your body is responding to temperature makes me think it could be hypothyroidism versus PCOS. I haven't seen a reaction to temperature listed as a symptom of PCOS.

Hi Jenn- Welcome-
Like you I had all of those symptoms. (except for the irregular periods)
I was diagnosed with PCOS and hypothyroidsm. Go to your doc and ask for your thyroid to be checked. After I was diagnosed and given medication the first thing I noticed was that my mood changed. I no longer was irrated so easily. Eventually, the symptoms get better. Check it out.
Good luck and keep posting
