Thanks Sam! I never thought we may be giving other people hope, we wish you all the best luck. We almost reached the 2 year mark of trying, going over your stats Sam I am kind of surprised they didn't stick with the Metformin for a few months, or up the dosage but I guess the Femara takes it's place? My wife is taking the met for the whole first trimester (supposed to derail possible miscarriage) and it never really bothered her, but the Clomid was AWFUL for her. She hated it and cried at the thought of taking it! The first year for us was patience and optimism, then came the doubt and questioning "will it ever happen". It was difficult at times to stay patient and calm, but I always assured my wife that it's okay and all we can do is try, try again. Obviously our spirits were up when she began ovulating again.
I actually have a funny experience to tell. Our trip to the doctor for an ultrasound to check her eggs (right before her trigger shot) the doctor showed us the right side, measured and said she would like it to be a little bigger. Then she showed us the left, measured and said that egg was matured...I looked at the doctor and said "So I am left?" Probably not the most appopriate thing to say, but I couldn't help it. And apparently it worked
sdw - that's a great story! Very funny! DH doesn't know how to swim and when we went in for our first IUI and they told us his results, motility, etc he was so excited that his sperm really could swim. He always joked that since he doesn't know how that his sperm wouldn't either. The nurse thought it was pretty funny. You have to find the humor in all of this to stay sane I think. I'm not sure why they never increased my met dose and I was on it until about a week ago. I stopped it because I'm going to take part in a study and they require you to stop. If the study doesn't work then I'll go ahead and get back on the met and go back and see what my next steps are with the RE. I might take a break though...DH has been really frustrated lately and is sick of TTC. It seems impossible for me to stop trying because I feel like I'm giving up but I think he's right and my brain needs the escape and rest from constantly thinking about it. I was like your wife though, I hated clomid as well!

Thanks Sweetstar. And Sam, I am by no means a doctor so I hope everything works out for you. That's funny about the swimming. We have some friends that ttc for about 6 years and eventually had to go IVF. But she would always say her hubby had slow stupid sperm...which made me laugh! As for the Clomid my poor wife would have hot flashes ALL THE TIME! She's 28 and having hot flashes! I know she was miserable, but I have to admit I giggled every now and then when all of a sudden she would start fanning and panting out of the blue...she hated it.
That is so awesome to see hubbys on here! I wish my man would do that....instead he waits for me to tell him everything! Lol. Though, he insists that he comes with me to appointments.
