To all of you...
I was diagnosed with PCOS about 6 months ago. I never really read up on it and have been thinking it all a fluke. Well, my finace and I have been trying to get pregnant for 7 months with no success. I went today for a blood test and it was negative, again. So, I decided to look into this PCOS. I wound up here. I have read a lot of information that has left me crying like a baby. I have always wanted to be a mother and just don't know what to do with this. I don't know who to talk to. I really don't even know what to say on here. I guess I am just looking to speak wo another person with this... syndrome...disease???
I totally understand that it can be more than overwhelming. It is good to educate yourself though so you can be your own advocate & get the health care you need. As for getting pregnant, don't feel like it is hopeless. There are many women on here who have PCOS & have had children even after years of trying. Some women find that meds like Metformin are enough to regulate their cycles & improve ovulation so they can conceive. Others have had luck with fertility meds like Clomid or natural remedies like Soy. You have so many options available so please don't feel hopeless... you should try to get to a good health care provider if you are concerned about your PCOS. In the meantime, check this site out extensively & you will find a lot of good info & great women who will give you hope. If you want to send me a private message too you are more than welcome. Good luck, welcome to SC!

The best advice I can give you is to learn as much as you can AND find yourself a good doctor who will be your partner in treating this disease. I struggled for years to try to have a child, and would not have succeeded without help. I can't tell you how much and how many times I cried over that. I took me years to finally get pregnant. The good news though is that when we finally found the right doctor it happened quite quickly.
You'll be ok, it's just very overwhelming at first. Sometimes it even helps to get mad, it can motivate you to get things done!
Have a look at my daughter if you need inspiration... anything is possible, she is our miracle after 6.5 years of failures.
You have come to the right place. So many of us have been where you are at and can help.
You just gained a bunch of cysters.

Welcome!!
Lot's of things to research huh?
Well don't let it overwelm you. It'll be alright. Lot's of good information here.
I tried for 9-10 years to get pregnant. And I finally did by taking Metformin. It regulated my periods, made me ovulate, put my hormones in trackl, and helped a few other PCOS symptoms. Maybe try some research on Met. But do alot of research cause there are alot of side effects to Met. But is so worth it once you get past them.
Good luck.
And do lot's and lot's of research!!!

Welcome. I know how you feel. I was terrified too when I found out I had PCOS. There are women who have kids with PCOS. Educate yourself on PCOS. Talk open and honestly with your dr about it. I think that is the best way to get the best treatment. There is a lot of support here and some great info.

I cried for 2 days when I found this site! These women are the best thing that has happened to me in a long time! I feel stronger and more knowledgeable. I felt so alone in this until I found my way to my online home and cysters. I cant say enough good things about my experience here! If you need anything you can pm me, I am here everyday I am a SC addict now!!!
Welcome to SC ((Hugs)) Totally understand, I could have written that first post myself. I was a total mess for about a month when I found out, I too have always wanted to be a Mum and with that perhaps being taken away it left me feeling really really down. Its like the bottom of your world drops out and you feel numb, the only way to describe the feelings of understanding what the initial diagnosis may mean. All you have to do is remain hopeful, through research and SC I have realised that many cysters have concieved and given birth to children, through the help of metformin and I've also heard success with clomid and IVF. Dont give up hope! It wont be easy, but you will get through it! You arent alone here The cysters are great and have great advice!
