Have a question for you gals, about 3 weeks ago I started using NPC to induce my cycle, it has worked for me before, well all I got was spotting, and when I went to my Dr she said that it looked like I just didn't use enough so she said to start over and use a little more, well I am 3 days into use and I started bleeding but for only about 2 hours a day and the rest of the time spotting or nothing at all, so should I consider this AF or finish the 14 days of NPC and see what happens? Thanks so much for all responses!!
I would stop using it for at least 7 days, then start again. You shouldn't use NPC for longer than 3 weeks straight anyway. Sometimes it takes time (often 3 to 6 months) for NPC to bring on regular AF. One month, I used NPC for about 2 weeks, and I started spotting, but never got a full flow, then about 3 months later, I got AF. So I would probably consider the spotting you got as AF and go from there.

Three times now I tried NPC combined with a good diet and exercise and the fact I am down over 25lbs!
I am at a loss as to what to try next!
Do you mean you have lost 25 pounds and are stuck, or that you gained 25 pounds? There are many things you could try in addition to NPC and a good diet and exercise. Maybe you need products to support your pituitary (such as vitex/chaste tree), or something for the adrenals or other glands. Maybe your thyroid is low... that is a common problem, especially with making weight loss difficult. Do you know if it is?

Some years back, I was told by my doctor that I shouldn't be using progesterone if I wanted to get pregnant. But then I joined this site and found that the advice wasn't necessarily true. So, am I correct to assume that NPC would not harm a baby if in fact I did get pregnant? AND, it helps to regulate the cycle?
I'm wondering if after a while of using NPC, does your body get the picture and start regulating on its own?
Thanks!
Deborah

Yeah, doctors don't know enough about natural products to give any advice about them. As far as using NPC while trying to get and during pregnancy... very safe. And yeah, can help prevent miscarriage, especially during the first few weeks. I know someone who was pregnant, and her progesterone levels dropped really low, so the doctor gave her a shot of progesterone (strong), and she used NPC to keep it up.
There are SOME herbs you don't want to take during pregnancy, but NPC is fine.

What a debate! I am considering taking natural progesterone, either from my dr. who does bio-identical or cream from health food store. Have any of you ladies had success with either in regulating hormones and symptoms of pcos? Thanks!
January - The only reason I've been using NPC is for the progesterone support after ovulation since we're TTC. I haven't noticed much of a difference in my PCOS symptoms, but I'm also on 1500mg of Metformin and I attribute my regular 34-day cycles to that. But like I said, I personally have never used it for any other reason other than TTC. Hopefully someone else on here can answer your questions better. I know it's worked wonder for many women here as far as regulating periods and other PCOS problems.
Well looks like I'm going to have to continue using NPC. I didn't use it this month because after losing around 9 lbs, I got AF on my own on 9-17. I thought maybe the losing weight was doing the job, but I'm sitting on CD29 and no sign of AF in sight, although I'm really emotional and PMS-y lately. (I'm definitely NOT pregnant...we haven't BD'd in a while due to hubby's back problem, and the times that we have were definitely not around ovulation!). I think I'll give it another two or three days to see what happens, and start NPC again then.
January~ I have been successful in regulating my periods with NPC, but as I said, this month I didn't use it because I wanted to see how my weight loss would affect AF. I did use it successfully before then, but we were TTC at the time also, so my regular periods could be attributed to using soy for ovulation along with the NPC after O. I do notice when I'm on it though, that my PMS isn't as strong.

I just have a few questions.
A few months ago when I was diagnosed with PCOS my doctor told me that I do not ovulate (annovulation)...this was confirmed with OPK and BBT. So, one of my questions is will npc help me to ovulate? Also I read somewhere that I should start the npc on day 14 and use it for 14 days...is this correct? I'm still a little confused about how much to use and when (even though I've spent hours reading through info on the internet). Is it a big deal how much you use and how many days you use it for?
So, I just started using npc on day 14 of my cycle. I am using Arbonne's prolief cream. I am putting 1/4 tsp on twice a day. I am on day 16 of my cycle now.
Anyway, I would appreciate any feedback.
Thanks!!
I enjoy reading all of your information on this board. I am trying to decide if I should try NPC.

Are you using over the counter progesterone? I have an appt. with guy who specialized in bio-identical hormones on Monday. He is quite expensive. I don't know if I should go back on the pill, which helped to some degree, or try the bhrt route. Any suggestions? My main goal is to maintain health and keep the hair on my head.
I have a question. I just ovulated yesterday. I called my doctor and asked if I was needing progesterone. She told me that my levels were ok but they would put me on progesterone through a vaginal pill regardless because of the PCOS. I asked her about natural progesterone that is a cream rubbed on the skin. She told me that that cream doesn't not work at all. Then when I go online about the natural progesterone it says that the doctors progesterone is not good for me. I am very confused on who to believe. Any suggestions?????
