My question is this....I am on Met XR 1500 mg a day and I do o.k. on it...meaning, I ovulate and I get AF, but I don't have an exact 28 day cycle on it. For example, I got my period last time on 10/23, and then I got it for this cycle today on 12/5. Anyway, I have Prolief cream and am wondering if since I already ovulate and get AF, will this cream help me at all with my cycles or should I not try it? I am in the works to have IVF done in the spring, and really don't want to have to do IVF again if I don't have to.
And...if I understand correctly, progesterone cream doesn't make you ovulate?? Am I getting that right....and that is why you take it AFTER you ovulate, right? I guess all along I thought it helped you ovulate, so I think I had it wrong. I guess what I am trying to ask/say, is that I don't have any problems with ovulating and getting AF (thanks in full to being on Met), but I have problems achieving a pregnancy even though I ovulate. If you don't use the cream until you for sure have ovulated, then it doesn't help you actually BECOME pregnant right, it just helps you STAY pregnant, right? Or am I missing something? What else can I take to help me achieve a pregnancy if I am already ovulating?

Hi Tara - I'm sorry no one has answered your questions. I'll try to answer your questions from what I know. NPC does not help you to get pg, it helps you stay pg. I started it 3 days after i O'ed just to make sure that I won't mc, but I ended up having an ectopic (but that's besides the point).
As far as something else you can try to get pg, the past 3 cycles I had done a clomid/soy combo. Soy helps with cm and your uterine lining. There are a couple of soy threads in the TTC forum. Check them out....there are a few people over there that know quite a bit about that stuff.

Tara- I agree with Nicole- try the soy to help ovulate earlier- I'm in the same boat- not ovulating until cd 27 or 29 these past few months as you can see from my siggy... I tried soy but didn't use it this month and didn't have a notable difference, but it was only one month.
Lots of cycters have really good luck with it.
I use npc as soon as I confirm ovulation because I'm pretty sure my progesterone is low... then when my period starts I stop using it. If you DO get preg. you're supposed to use it through the 1st trimester because when you stop using it it's supposed to trigger your period. Lots of cysters use it to trigger a period who don't get one naturally.

You should start using NPC after you confirm that you have O'ed if you are TCC, which is usually like 3 days past O. If you use it too soon then you will mess w/ O'ing.

Wow thanks I have endometriosis in addition to PCOS so trying to also get that to heal slightly b4 TTC. I want to start TTC JUNE 08, so I may use the cream from day 6-26, to stop ovulation and heal the endo. Do you know how progesterone cream helps pcos? Does it help the blood sugar levels and weight loss?

has anyone noticed a tendency toward puffy eyes in the morning when using npc? i know that sleep plays a part, but i've had puffy eyes every few weeks (in looking back, it seems to be from the week before my period through my period). i've never had much of a problem before.
i have just had my kidneys and thyroid checked, so i don't think that's it.

I bought FemGest NPC grom GNC and used it for two weeks I stopped using it on the 20th and AF showed the 22nd. I am so excited I am now going to take Licorice and see if I ovulate.
