So glad I found this website. I was just diagnosed on Friday. I can't believe it, I have been fighting with these symptoms for years; depression, extreme weight gain, acne, hair growth on my neck (YUCK!), hypertension, irregular periods, pigment changes in my skin, and so on....I am sort of relieved that I finally know what's wrong with me. Thought I was going crazy, but now comes the treatment. I'm very nervous, my doctor is talking about glucophage, birth control pills, a med for the hair growth. Haven't made any final decisions yet.
I haven't a clue as to what I am up against, so any info. that you guys out there might have, I would appreciate it immensly.
hi there, i was just diagnosed a few weeks ago. Glucophage(metformin) is going well for me so far, ive had hardly any side effects. Im guessing you are insulant resistant, so metformin would be a good way to go but.. you shouldnt just do the pill ive been directed by my dr to change my eating habits as well... if you have yahoo msgr you can add me if you like my id is iamyourvenuss
