New to this & looking for help

Hi. I haven't been on the board for a very long time. There have been A LOT of changes in my life. One of which is that I came out to my family and friends. Another is that I'm getting a divorce.

My question I guess is where do I go? LOL! I live in small town Alabama. Although I do live close to some larger cities (45+ minutes), it's still the Bible belt and there are still people that frown upon the lesbian issue. So, it's not like I can go to a local bar and find like-minded women. I have looked in our phone book, looked online, and even signed up with Match. But, nothing. I'm not looking for a relationship---just want to find like-minded women. Women to talk to about what they went through when they came out and about changes in their lives. Other than my ex-husband, I don't have friends down here.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Or anything???

I haven't been on for a while so just saw your thread. you posted a while back so i hope you're still around. I wanted to respond cos i really felt for you. I'm from UK so don't know much about alabama but I do know a great website you should go on - www.gingerbeer.co.uk - it's based in UK but there are americans on theretoo. they have a message board. there are always tons of people on there and they are always willing to chat so i guarantee you'll get people who respond and some may even have ideas about wher to go / what to do. try it ! - the 'lez chat' section
