Default New medication if you can't take glucophage????

I went to the doctor today and she told me that there is a new medication that is out that startes with a p. I thought that it was protonix , but I looked it up in my med. book and realized that I was wrong. Does anyone know of a new medication that PCOS patients are taking if they can't take glucophage? She did not write my precription because I am having a liver function test tomorrow and then she will call my new prescriptions in.

pioglitozone? that is the generic name for Actos which is often used for PCOS. It's a far cry from protonix, though, so maybe that's not it.

The only ones I know of are Actos, Avandia, & Avandamet for PCOS/IR.

Good Luck!

I don't think it's Protonix. I take protonix for my Hiatal Hernia (acid reflux).
