Red face New Member...

Hey everyone,

I'm a new member...was diagnosed about a week and a half ago, after extensive tests ect... for a few months.

Ummm my stats I guess:?

I'm prediabetes...high levels of insulin or something?
At risk for all kinds of diseases
30 lbs overweight (gained this in like 3 months WITH diet and exercise!) I was a perfect 3/4, 5'7....was modeling...
Little bit more breakouts than before (I'm 20 n always had beautiful skin till this past year...)
Ummm....have suffered major depression for a few years
Always irregular cycles, only would get 2-3 periods a year.
Cannot have children on my own, if I want them I was advised to have them with help before 27 or bank them...bah

This is just kinda blah typing this all, the reality is errr...you know? Anyway I have one positive thing to say, well two! First off, I'm so glad there are others out there!! SOOO GLAD. and 2, A woman on my Taebo forum told me she has pcos andsaid the south beach diet works wonders... well I've been on it for 5 days now, i mean its hell in the first 2 weeks, lol i want to die from cravings n fatigue, but um i think it helped play a part in giving me my period this month, igot it this morning, I wanted to tell all of you, i've been just reading posts for awhile, i think it works! I had my last period on easter, after having none since thanksgiving, and now about 21 days later another one! THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED TO ME! ahhh, so I dunno what do you all think of it??? Think its from the south beach diet? ive been following it religously......its suppossed to help your horomones...my doc also said it was a good thing totry.............lemme know!! AND HELLO TO ALL!!!!!!!!!!! it's nice to see we are allin the same boat!!!

I saw your welcome message in my thread and wanted to say welcome to you also. Although if this makes sense, I wish there wasn't a need for a website on PCOS you know like it didn't exist. But for some reason PCOS exist and its good to know there is a support system. Your story is closer to mine so far as to what I've read so far. I had the acene problem for years still do, period problems just about every sypmton at some point or another it seems I had, have or developing. So far have not gone diabete and I pray I don't because i have a friend who is and I see what she goes thru so i feel for you. I'm only 33 but since the problems I had since childhood I feel cheated just like a lot of others on this board. I don't even date haven't since high school and my boyfriend dumped me because I wouldn't go all the way with him. First I didn't believe in that before marriage and secondly maybe even more importantly I did not like the way my body looked because I was shaving back then and had more hair in areas then I should. But anyway i degress and didn't mean to. sometimes I just get to typing and away go my feelings on screen. Anyway welcome from a fellow newbie tothe boards even if have been dealing with this for a while. I can still remember the day I was diagonised like it was yesterday.
