Well, Rob and I went to our first infertility appointment on Friday (9/19). We met with a really nice dr who explained everything to us. It turns out I have what they call PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome). I have alot of cysts on my ovaries that is not alowing me to become pregnant. Its scary to think that I may not be able to carry a child of my own.So its going to be a bumpy ride but with our love for each other. We have to do all these tests and it will work out in the end hopefully. So all we need to do it just think of it as a nother project a book was telling us. But hopefully we will conceive and have a family of our own soon.
welcome........ I am sure you will love it here I'm vaguely new but you learn so much more here than being on my own, through everyone they are great... it helps knowing that your not alone...
Welcome to the club - and believe me, you are FAR from alone. I recommend you read through lots and lots of the threads on this site, because you are very likely to find women going through the very things you are. You can seek out advice/commonality/just a friend in symptoms for everything from hair loss, excess hair, weight gain, metabolism problems, infertility...the list is truly endless!
I think PCOS is something you (we) all have to be patient with and aggressive about. Don't be afraid of treatment, and don't be afraid to share symptoms with your doctor. I won't say it's an easy fix (It's been three years since I got off BC and still no pregnancy here...), but there are absolutely ways to manage symptoms and drastically improve your quality of life.
Good luck!
