Default New to met! and a Thank you to christyz

Well ladies(especially christyz), your help has , helped me to obtain alot of knowledge on pcos and metformin as a treatment. So today I went to my doc and said " I want off my bcp's and I want to go on met!" I was expecting to have to explain myself and fight for it , and he said it was a good idea , because more and more studies are showing that all ladies with pcos have IR weather it shows on tests or not , and that possibly the cause of pcos in the first place is IR! So tomorrow I start off slowly and will work myself up to 1500mgs a day. I believe this could greatly improve my quality of life. I believe that this along with the low carb diet that I am on can get me on the path back to health. I am thankful that I have a place to go to learn and such great people to help! I especially am greatful to christyz who has taken time out of her life to help us all , I have asked her alot of questions and advice and she has always come through with good answers. Thank you so much for doing this for us christy , we all appreciate someone who will share their knowledge with us.

Andrea

Thank YOU for your kind words! I am so happy that your Dr was supportive of your treatment plan.

I wish you all the best with all of these new changes in your meds. Be patient with your body for the next few months as it sorts itself out, and keep us posted on how you are progressing.

Way to go Nanci! I am so happy everything paid off! Glad to have helped...heaven knows I've been there. Nothing worse than the combo of hormones and frustration.

Keep us posted on you, girl!!

Yay! I third it: Christy you have been an extraordinary help to many of us... THANK YOU!!!

Good for you, Andrea, on taking charge of your health! With your positive attitude, I'll bet you'll have many accomplishments. It feels good to take back the control over our bodies. I, too, went off the pill and I am not having any of the side effects I used to have when I would go off the pill to TTC before Met. Being on Met since last May has really helped me, I think. Time will tell though... I've had one 30 day cycle and am in the middle of my second cycle off the pill. I'm seeing signs of approaching O but we shall see. I always keep Christy's first year on Met in the back of my mind and how she wrote her cycles were. Best of luck to you!
