Default New--and on metformin

I was diagnosed with PCOS a few months ago but began taking Metformin (1000 mg/day) a little over a month ago. Two weeks ago I started to lower my carbohydrate intake (and eliminate all wheat, bread, grains). I have been trying to gain weight, but I feel like it has been harder to do than I had thought. I would like to start a family soon, but I have yet to get my period.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

If you have not started your period naturally you can take Provera to induce a period. I have to take Provera (Progesterone) once a month for 10 days to induce my period since I only have 2-3 periods a year naturally. I am also taking Metformin 500mg 2x a day. You will have to ask your Dr. for the Provera Rx, my dosage is 10mg and I take it once a day for 10 days. After I have finished the 10 day dosage my period always starts 2 days after. Good Luck & let me know if you have any other ??'s =)

Thanks for the response! I went on Provera back in January and it worked, but I did not have a period after that. I will ask my dr. to try both. Did you ever take Clomid and metformin together?

I am actually on my first round of the Metformin 500mg + Clomid 50mg combination. I take Met 2x a day and I will start taking Clomid once my period comes which should be in 2 days since I just finished my last Progesterone pill last night. Im hoping it works, or at least makes me ovulate. I took Clomid 50mg last month without the Met and I didnt have any signs of ovulation so im keeping my fingers crossed!
