I was just recently diagnosed with PCOS and have been researching like crazy when i stumbled upon this site. I am horrible with computers so the fact that i even found you all is great. Well i was diagnosed around May of this year and was put on metformin and dexamethasone (sp). I got a bfp in july and was very surprised because i had not had a period in months. Unfortunatly i miscarried around 6 weeks because of a week heartbeat. My question is if i do not have my period how did i get pregnant? My doctor just had me stay on the metformin (1000 mg) and start back up on dex and told me to call him in 3 months if i am not pregnant and if i dont have a period by then. i take opk test and usually get a positive one around the same time every month. I am very eager to talk to all of you and hopefully find and give some support. Thanks for listening!!
I was recently dx with PCOS although I have had it for about 9 years. Unfortunatley my Dr at the time did not do anything about it, he didn't even tell me until last Feb. Anyway to answer your question about how could you be pregnant if you don't have periods, I was just told that you can still get pregnant even if you don't get a period. It was news to me. I was recently put on metformin and the bcp and the RN told me that before I take any of the meds she wanted to do a preg test. So naturally I asked her why and explained to her I had not had a period in 15 months and that is what she told me. Boy was I surprised.
Thanks so much for responding so quickly. I decided to join cause i think i am scaring my husband a little bit with always stressing out. He is always so positive which i usually love but in this case i am not feeling too positive lately. It helps to talk to someone who is going through it. Hope to talk to you again soon and thanks again!!
