Ok so here's my story. I need some help because no one in my life knows what to do and sorry I don't really know the terms on this website and I'm awful at describing what type of pain I'm having.
I started having periods a month before I turned 16 and I remember them being painful and being told it was normal. I'm pretty sure that they were semi-normal (I don't really have any perspective of what that is) for the first year or two. The year after I graduated (07 and about to turn 18, I'm an August baby) I started having major pains with my periods during the summer and they were coming for 10-12 days at a time with only a 1 or 2 week break. I finally convinced my mom to let me see a doctor because a lot of my cousins have problems too. The doctor put me on a birth control and scheduled me for an ultrasound. I stayed on that birth control for a few months and my ultrasounds came back fine. I continued to have pains and that doctor switched me to a couple other birth controls. By February of 08 I was angry at the pills not working and stopped taking them and I've never went back to that doctor.
My mom suggested I see the school health clinic in the fall because my pain was getting worse. I didn't go until I was having pain while I wasn't on my period and turned out I had a UTI and they put me on continuous birth control. I went back a month later because I was having such horrible pain (and through these times I had various prescriptions of hydrocodone which was how I was bearing the pain most of the time.) The doctor told me to take 2 birth control pills a day and to stop taking hydrocodone. That night the pain got so unbearable I went to the ER and they couldnt do anything and suggested a doctor in there hospital because I might have Endometriosis. I went and saw her and had another ultrasound. During the months of Novemeber and December I only had 11 period free days and nearly failed my classes. I had a Laproscopy on the 22nd of Dec of 08 and they removed the endo they said was covering my uterus.
On my followup visit they gave me a shot of DepoProvera (I don't know very much about this).
Then on the 20th of Jan. I started my period and it was slightly painful for the first few days but nothing near what I was use to having and was glad but my period continued and on Wednesday of last week I woke up in horrible pain and although my period stopped yesterday I'm still having major pain. Any ideas on whats going on? and does anyone know of ways to help the pain right now until I can talk to my dr on monday?
