Unhappy New and overwhelmed

Im 23 and have thought I had pcos for years but just recently had it confirmed. I really dont know what to do now though. I dont have a real doctor I got bounced around after an ER visit (bleeding heavy for over a month) usually i just ignore that but it was getting really bad and I was recommended to do something. That trip got me a mighty bill along with the visits after, but now its confirmed i guess thats a plus.

When I was 14 I was auto put on BCPs with no tests(having a heavy period for 3 weeks with a week break that went on for a few months before my mom believed me) the doctor told me things would fix themself with time. Me being 14 I was like whatever just make this bleeding stop. All was well for a year or 2 after that.

around 16 I started getting extreme pain and other symptoms. Had an ultrasound but they didnt find anything. had other tests that also didnt find anything. My mom was horrible at getting me into be seen so the only thing Ive done since is gone to free clinics but they couldnt do much besides put me on the pill again. I did that up until aug 2008 when the pill stopped helping as well and my periods were still all messed up and i was having moodswings ect.

Ive seeked some help here and there but nothing came of it I kinda lost hope. Ive never been a bad eater I eat like a bird really. which makes the me being so over weight hard on me. I used to do miles every other day all that did was keep me at one weight but never lost any. I would now love to be back at that weight *sigh*

I really dont know what im trying to talk about here. But I did get my pcos confirmed and am now very clueless and overwhelmed I dont know what to do now. I dont have a real doctor. I really dont want to be on BCPs ever again. Im not TTC but im not trying to stop it either (BF for 7 years wouldnt be a bad thing for us) it just wont happen.

I am tired of my heavy flo and need to know what to do to maybe get it fixed. I thought id get a break like normal since I just had it for a month straight but after changing my diet to be more PCOS friendly(it wasnt to bad anyway few minor changes) My period came again but has no sign of stopping.

I have a cousin who can get me her metformin but Id really like to consult a doctor before just taking the pills. but I have no doctor to consult.

Ok im going to stop I probably make no sense right now anyway. any advice or tips on anything would be helpful. and feel free to ask me any questions.

Yea Ive probably been on 5-8 different ones over the 9 years. But After doing research alot of things say prolonged use of the pill can make pcos worsen. I dont think its a fact but id rather not take the chance. but BCP is pretty much an aesthetic fix. It will make things like the acne and hair issues better and your period will seem better but Its a false bleed its not like having a real period.

So I really dont want to be on it again. atleast not how they tried to reget me on it this time. didnt even talk about other options.

this is one of the sites that was talking about why the pill is bad.
(ok Im not allowed to link sites yet but Sensible-Alternative is the home site. theres links on there leading to pcos and the issue with taking BCP.

I might have thought nothing of it if i hadnt found quite a few sites that agree the pill isnt good.
