Hi there,
You are a sweet friend to look into this for her...
All of this change at once is quite a shock to the system. Feeling like one's blood sugar is low is terrible. Especially because she has changed her diet recently, I would suggest eating several times per day, maybe even up to ten times a day, so that at no point will she get that starved feeling. As long as the quantity of food isn't much more than she would have eaten, this might help her transition into her new relationship with the meds. If she plans it out in the morning, she can keep an eye on total consumption. I also would recommend getting some extra sleep.
Best wishes to you both,
Sheri
