Default new to PCOS

My wife and I got married in July 2006 and tried getting pregnant around Feb 2007 but were having problems. So she went to the doctors and was diagnosed with PCOS. She started eating organic food and I am eating it also to support her. We are gonna start walking as the weather is finally nice.

Any advice from any other husbands/boyfriends on being suportive?

I obviously can't give you advice from a mans perspective but I can tell you from a females.

Allow her to cry, vent and just talk without trying solve what the problem is. Remeber that sometimes we aren't coming to you to fix us we just want to tell you how we feel without you trying to find a solution. When she says that shes tired don't think she is just trying to get out of doing something she is probably exhausted and just needs her rest.

My fiance and I are coping with it together. We weren't together when I was diagnosed we were just friends and he was actually my best friend support system. Now that he and I are together we talk about having a family and what the future might hold for us. He reminds me that even if we can't concieve on our own we can always adopt (he was adopted ). We also just have fun when we are lying in bed we laugh about sex, since we aren't TTC as of right now it's always hunny quick grab a towel I don't want to make a mess and later it's going to be quick prop me up on the pilliow I don't want to loose a single drop. I think what helps us the most is just very open communication about how both of us are feeling.

i guess my posting to Kat went ignored.

Welcome to the site bro, youre not the only guy out there dealing with this for sure but a lot of the boyfriends and husbands come in here to read only. a few of us post somewhat regularly but keep in mind anytime you ask for a man's response to something it may take a day or few before one of us replies.

be supportive, be encouraging, be THERE, perhaps the most obvious of the suggestions. PCOS isnt the end of the world and dont let her use it as a crutch or to play up the woe is me thing. be the strong one and the rock upon which she leans but also reassure her often enough to realize she is still able to stand on her own feet.

just remember her place is beside you and not behind you... PCOS doesnt change that.

hope this helps
