I'm new here and totally new to PCOS. I just wanted to get some first-hand information from the people that know.
I've been mensturating since I'm 12 and I'm now 24. I was always pretty regular around 30 days, give or take one or two days. I went on bc on 10/06 and got off of it when we decided we wanted to have a baby in 11/07.
Around 10/07, I was having really bad stomach problems, and was sent for an abdominal ultrasound, when that showed nothing I was sent for an internal ultrasound. The internal showed that I had cysts in my ovaries. So here's my first question, is it possible that the bc gave me cysts?
After going off bc in 11/07, my cycles got very long- anywhere from 40-45 days. The ob-gyn said it was due to the my PCOS. And told me that I may not be able to conceive on my own. I get my period every month and the doctor says I have been ovulating. Second question, I thought when you have PCOS you don't ovulate?
Now, I was getting used to these extra long cycles and this month I got my period on day 34- a whole ten days shorter than last month. Third question, is it possible the cysts are goign away and I'm going back to a normal schedule?
I know it's only been six months of ttc, but the extra long periods get my hopes up and then I get crushed when I'm not pg. All this waiting and guessing and not knowing when the right time is really takes a toll on me. Any advice that anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated. |

2. If you are ovulating, ask your doctor why she thinks you cannot get pregnant without medical assistance.
3. What else have you been diagnosed with? Some ladies find when they reduce their weight, they can more easily get pregnant. Metformin has been known to regulate cycles for some cysters so they could get pregnant more easily.
4. Be sure to stop by the Mommy Board and see all the success stories.
5. What is your diet like? What meds are you on? Be sure to check in on the Fertility board.
6. Some cysters ovulate, some don't.
