Smile new to PCOS

Hi I was just told I have PCOS. I have very regular periods, I ovulate, no extra body hair, occasional acne, and not extremely overweight. My DH and I have been ttc for 10 months now and blood tests showed LH was twice as high as normal and that's why PCOS was diagnosed. I have strugled with depression for about 10 years now and I am just curious to know if depression is anyone elses only real symptom to PCOS.

Hi, and welcome to SC. You'll find a lot of info and support here I don't think that depression is actually a symptom of PCOS. I think that having a chronic syndrome and symptoms can cause depression. I do know that many cysters do suffer from depression, so you are welcome here regardless. I'm sure your Dr. wouldn't have diagnosed you with PCOS without a reason. Anyway, feel free to come her and post if you're feeling down, have something to share or just want to say "hi". You might find, from some of the other forums, more info that pertains to you. Lendi

Hi Mollymo!

Welcome to SC! I am a newbie too and I'm sure you'll find the support you need around the boards.

I have "mild" symptoms of PCOS, like slight obesity (BMI 30), slight acne, etc. I am very often depressed and it is clear that my depressed moods are connected with my cycle.

I have been to a therapist for 2 years and now I know how to deal with a depressive time but it's still hard sometimes. I'm new to my job and some weeks ago I could not turn up in the office because I simply could not get out of bed and I could not stop crying.

I am on Sugar Busters diet for 3 weeks and I hope it will help me with weight loss and also with my awful mood swings.

Good luck to you
see you around
Luv Steph
