Question New to PCOS, but confused!

Hey, Everyone!

I think I was diagnosed today with PCOS but my doctor wants to run a few tests just to make sure she is right. I'm 16 and a little confused with the effects of PCOS. My symptoms were irregular periods, hair growth, and I had hormone imbalances. I know that I am at risk of diabetes and heart disease but I'm 110 pounds and 5'3". What can I do to prevent these from happening? Am I still at risk if I'm not overweight?

I also know that impaired fertility is an effect of PCOS. Not that I want to get pregnant any time soon, I'm just a little concerned. Are the chances of me getting pregnant (when I'm much older of course) slim or if I get help with pregnancy will everything be okay?

Just a few questions that I didn't get to ask today =]
thanks!
