Hi all. I'm new and this is my first post. First a little background about me. Let see. I'm 28 and have been married for about a year and a half. I was diagnosed with PCOS a while back, somewhere in high school I think. My mother has it as well. I have been on birth control for as long as I can remember. At one point I was put on glucophage, which I didn't like, but for other reasons. I was put back on birth control to control my periods and have been on it since. I have been on Otho Trycycline Low (sorry can't remember how to spell it) and Yasmin now for a couple of years.
Anyways, my problem at the moment is my sex drive. It just isn't there and that totally stinks for someone who is supposed to be a newlywed. I feel bad for my poor husband. I went to a reproductive endocrinologist in May and had the whole blood work, drink the glucose crap an everything. While all that was going on I was off my bc for a month or two. The results were that I don't have diabetes (yea), but that I'm at risk for it and that I have high cholesterol. I asked about the low sex drive an he said that if I didn't notice any difference in the month or two that I was off during the whole testing that it was probably something else. Could be, there are a million reasons why someone could have low sex drive. I mean I have been on bc for so long I don't know if I just have low sex drive normally. I was on bc before I even thought about having sex so who knows.
So I'm back to square one on that. I was just wondering if others have had the same experiences. I wonder if two months was enough time to get rid of the side effects of the bc pills? I know that they say when you want to ttc you should be off bc pills for three months at least to get it out of your system. Part of me wants to get off the pills and see if eventually my drive will come back. Though I know if I do that my periods will go nutty and I may feel anxious wondering if I'm not getting my period because they are messed up or for other reasons.
So thats me. Sorry, didn't mean to be so long winded. I just want my sex drive to come back so that we can have a normal happy marriage. Our marriage is great in every other aspect but that.
I also apologize for asking a question I'm sure is already on the site. I saw a few posts that were similar to what I was asking, but not totally what I was looking for. I hope it was ok I made my own post.
I have been off of my BC for about 3 months now and I can tell my sex drive is more than it was. The glucophage comes in different ways like extended release. From what I understand it will help to regulate AF.
Also with the sex drive check out this thread December Sex, Sex, Sex
Good luck!

Wow, glad I am not the only one with a sex drive issue!! What is wierd with me is that it takes so much out of me to have it, but after I have it I want it for days..........hmmmmmmm still haven't figured that out yet. Good luck to you.
I have the same issue. As a matter of fact, hubby actually fought me today. I think it is my bc affecting me. I've read that they can have this side effect. I've only been on them now however for three weeks, so not sure if this wears off after two months or not. Hopefully someone else can also chime in on this one.

I have heard that the more sex you have the more that you want it. Maybe you just need to have it a bit more even if you don't want it to get yourself in the grove. OR Pure Romance has a product that you can use to get the blood flowing. I have used it before when I got in a funk. and it worked for me.
