New to SC and Just Diagnosed...

Hello everyone, my name is Jessica and I am 18. Earlier this week I found out that, after a year of considering it a possibility, I do indeed have PCOS. I found it funny that I was relieved to have found out what it was that was causing these problems I've been having and yet slightly frightened about what might become of my health and my ability to conceive. Well, yesterday I had a doctor's appointment and had the ability to talk to her about the blood test results that confirmed that I have PCOS. She perscribed me Yaz and in a month I go back and we see about putting me on Metformin. I just started Yaz today and am hoping it will work for me. Does anyone else here use Yaz and/or Met, and what results have you had? Also, what about weight loss and these perscriptions? Because I read that one of Yaz's side effects is weight gain... And I've already overweight enough!

Hi, I was recently diasgnosed with PCOS (going on two months now), i was immidetly prescribed metformin 500g twice a day (extended release), as of right now i actually got my AF on time this month!!!! woot , i have yet to see if it causes ovulation tho =/ i actually lost about 8 pounds within the first 2 weeks taking metformin, but i probably gained it all back with this last period. I always get bloated for about a week (look like im 2-3 months pregnant) then it goes away after my period comes. Well if you have any other questions feel free to ask , ill try and answer them as best i can

ive been on met for years, and find that as long as i avoid greasy/fatty/sugar foods as much as poss, i am ok with it.
