Smile New to SC...loving all the support.

Hi everyone, I just thought I should introduce myself. I am new to this site but not to PCOS. I was dx when I was 11. It has been a very hard road for me. No one seemed to understand. I am SO happy to find this site and to be around other women who actually understand how I feel. Thank you all so much.

I recently (about 3 weeks ago) started on met (1000mg/day) and Synthroid (50mcg/day) and I have been having some trouble I think with the met. It makes me very sick some days and others are just fine. Any thoughts on how I could help myself have more good days than bad? I do like the met for other reasons. I have just had the most perfect af of my life. I could not believe how text book it was. (I was very excited). I also feel more in control of my emotions. Just hoping to stop the tummy aches.

The reason I went on met is to try and get pregnant. I am hoping this will help me achieve my goals. Anyone have any thoughts about that? Any other tips or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

I am also trying to win the weight battle. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am working out with a trainer twice a week but food is still my biggest issue. I would love to hear from anyone who has had some success. I would love to start winning this battle.

Thank You all for your support and I look forward to hearing from you.

welcome to sc what helped me with the weight loss, was to stop eating wheat/dairy i found i am intollerant to them.

i find that as long as i avoid greasy/fatty/sugar foods as much as poss and always eat with the met i am ok with it. Could you keep a food diary for awhile to see if you have any trigger foods making it worse?

Eva, the food journal sounds like a great idea. Was it hard to give up wheat and dairy? I do believe those two groups are my favorite!

I would be careful with what diet you choose. I was about to start the adkins diet because I read it was very useful for people with PCOS trying to lose weight, but my doctor told me it was a huge no no because of my high cholesterol. I heard about the GI diets but haven't put one into motion yet, I'm still reading up on it.
