Hi everyone!
My name is Erika. I've posted my story a couple of places but I'm really scared and could use some support so I'm going to post it again. I hope that's ok
I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 17. I have been regular for years, and we know I do ovulate (at least sometimes) though not very well, apparently. I'm nervous because I was diagnosed with a semi-rare kidney disease last year and my kidney function is declining. The doctor has me on IV steroid treatments and is hopeful that it will keep my kidneys ok for a while, possibly forever, but they will decline.. we just don't know how far. If it gets bad enough, getting pregnant makes the chances of my kidney decline getting faster much more likely. Basically, we have to try ASAP, so we're starting as soon as my iv treatment is done in December.
I'm just worried that with my PCOS, it'll take a long time to conceive and by then my kidneys won't be able to handle it. I'm also overweight and working on that but we all know how hard that is with PCOS.
Does anyone have any advice or suggestions, or has anyone been through anything similar?
