Default New - Second round of Clomid.

Hi alll I'm new to the board and needed someone to talk to as I think there are just certain things my mother honestly doesn't want to hear...lol.

I'm 31 and was diagnosed with PCOS in the spring. I had been on BCP for 12 years and came off them last year in August. I had a fairly regular cycle...one long, one short, rinse lather repeat until the New Year. Then everything just stopped. Took about a million and one pregnancy tests because I MUST be pregnant.

After awhile I figured enough was enough I should really go to the doctor. She diagnosed me with PCOS and put me on Metformin and referred me to a fertility dr. He is extremely nice and soft spoken and started me on Provera (aka the pill of mood swings as my husband lovingly refers to it). Put me through bloodwork tests, got my insides injected with dye to make sure everything was in working order and had the hubby tested as well. Everything is fine. So then six weeks later when I'm still not pregnant we boosted it up to Provera, Clomid, HCG Shot and wait.

My first cycle took three trips to get follicle tracking before they were juuuust right. And just when I was convinced I was pregnant I got my period. Very upsetting but also happy that I got it on my own since that hasn't happened in MONTHS. But upsetting.

So now round two. The ultrasound lady was very excited on Monday and told me Wednesday would probably be the day. And it was so I got my shot.

The thing is...we had intercourse on Wednesday morning and last night he wasn't able to climax. And on top of that he hurt himself trying and now I think he is too sore to try again tonight. I did research online and it says that having intercourse before you ovulate is good because sperm can stay active for up to 7 days, normally only 3 to 4. I'll take that! But it seems that we are going on just that for this cycle and I'm really bummed out. I tried to be supportive and tell him that its just stress because he knows that he HAS to. So now I'm thinking that if it doesn't take this cycle that maybe I shouldn't tell him when I get my shot and then maybe he won't feel pressure. Have any of you had this?

hey pamela, personally we haven't had the pressure of ttc be overwhelming for dh but it has added stress. just what we don't want eh. If you bd'd the night before i think you'll be fine. my doctor told me everyother day during that week of O. This ttc journey is hard and frustrating at times but hang in there.

Hey Pamela! We should be just about the same dpo! I didn't trigger, just 100mg Clomid. I had +OPK and temp. dip on Wednesday and Temp. spike on Thurs. I caved and tested today (5dpo) and of course got BFN. I knew that's what it would be but I'm impatient!

Because I have the hcg shot I can't start testing until 10 days after the shot but I'm nervous and wait 14 days as I don't want to get a false positive since hpt test for the hcg hormone in your system. The day I was going to take the hpt I got my period last time so heres hoping! keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Pamela - I don't even tell DH when it's my ovulation time. We have a pretty active sex life to begin with but I find when it's close to O time I just initiate sex a little more often then usual (no complaints from him). I feel it takes some of the pressure off of him and we both enjoy it alot more!

Good luck to you on this cycle!

I agree with firstar about not telling DH about u ovulating. We found the pressure of timed intimacy a little daunting. After my 3rd unsuccessful cycle with clomid I decided to only let my DH know if asked directly. I would initiate sex a little more around the time of ovulation.

The pressure can really get to them especially if you have been ttc for a long time....And we are the ones who go for blood work, u/s etc. Wonder what they would do if they had to undergo so many tests.lol
