Hi, I'm new to the site. I was diagnosed with PCOS around 2005. To tell you the truth I don't know exactly when it was. I have been having irregular periods as long as I can remember. A few years ago I went 365 days nonstop heavy bleeding. I went to my then OBGYN and was told I was just overweight and needed to loose weight. A year or so later I went to a general doctor and he diagnosed me. He put me on metformin and I became regular.
PCOS hasn't bothered me too much mainly because I also have Crohn's and depression that have bothered me more. I now want to have a baby and so the PCOS is complicating matters. I've had to change insurance companies a lot over the past few years so I haven't been able to manage anything as much as I would like. I am trying a new OBGYN this month to see what they say. A friend of mine suggested joining a forum so I'm not so depressed about the 17 plus pills I take on a daily basis to manage everything I have going on so I'll see how this goes.

Welcome to SC! There is a lot of support on this website for all of the many wacky things that PCOS can do to your body/mind/spirit. Also, don't worry because a lot of cysters take just as many pills as you do so try not to get discouraged. We're glad you are here!
