Default New with some questions

Hi There,

I was just recently diagnosed with PCOS have been researching the web like crazy and found this site. Just wanted to know if anyone out there has something similar going on...

27 years old, married, husband and i decided we wanted to have a baby. went off the pill in March - haven't had a period yet. went to the doctors (walk in clinic as my dr is on mat leave) and was turned away at first (told me i was young and not to worry about it) - got a second opinion - had an ultrasound. found tiny cycsts on both ovaries - went for blood work - FSH = 6, LH = 23, Progesterone = 2, Estraidiol = 173.

Just picked up the blood results today - I have an appointment with a naturopathic doctor (benefits cover 500 a year) and she wanted to see the results.

I have been referred to a gyn, but since a live in a small northern ontario city, the wait list is long - thats why i figured i might as well be proactive and see a naturopath while I am waiting for a gyn appt.

after doing some research on my blood work I started to freak out. I knew that it would be a challenge with PCOS to get pregnant but now I am even more worried.

Just wondering if anyone out there can explain my numbers to be and see if what i read out there is right - seems to me my LH should match my FSH and my progesterone level is way too low to even ovulate/concieve.

I am just very frustrated because it is taking so long to see a gyn - i was told I could be waiting a couple more months - I hate not knowing my options..

Hi KLP! Welcome to SC!

I am not absolutley sure about a lot of PCOS pregnacy/hormone level numbers, etc, but I will say that SC has so many knowledgable people who have had so much experience with various PCOS related issues and they are willing to share info with other cysters, so rest assured that you have found a good place to discuss issues and become informed.

Try using the search function to find some threads on issues which may relate to you!

Good Luck and welcome!

Kim
