Default New to Soulcysters

Hi! Just thought I would introduce myself I am new here and just recently had it confirmed that I have PCOS.

I always knew something was wrong due to the fact that I have such irregular cycles. I go through times when I can get my period month to month or go 6 months without. I am 32 years old and got married last year. We decided to start having kids right away and I figured that I should go for a pre-check with my OB/GYN since I knew that something was not right. I went to see her and told her my long history of being irregular since my teens and the first thing she asked me was “Have you ever heard of PCOS?” I said yes and how I had read up on it and suspected that is what I had. I have symptoms (some facial hair, mild acne, a little overweight). She did a blood test and discovered my LH/FSH ratio was consistent with PCOS 2:1 ratio (LH 12/FSH 6), I did NOT have the insulin resistance, she also did an u/s and found 3 small cysts (less than 3mm) on my right ovary and 1 cyst on my left ovary. I had my annual pap smear at the same time and it came back abnormal AGUS which was very concerning because it is very rare to have an atypical Glandular cells. She performed a biopsy and colospy and saw an abnormality. The biopsy revealed CIN 3 and she performed a LEEP a week later. It has now been 3 weeks since the LEEP procedure. When I spoke to her last week she said I will more than likely need to take Clomid to conceive. She is planning to give me Clomid in 2 months (after my Cervix should be completely healed).

It has been quite the last 5 weeks. I expected the PCOS but the abnormal pap and LEEP procedure were just an extra kick in the pants. I feel like I already have so many strikes against me with ttc and I haven’t even started yet!

It is really nice to have this site and know that I am not alone.

Anyone have an advice for me? Or know any questions I should ask my doctor?

I'm very new to this site (and my PCOS diagnosis) too, but I wanted to say welcome. It sounds like you have been through a lot recently, but have a good plan. I don't have much advice since I'm so new to this. Have you considered charting your BBT? Best wishes with everything! I'm sure this site will be a great resource.
