Dear schwic,
Just read your post. Don't know if I will be much help, but thought I would try. I definitely say get a second opinion or really push the issue with your current doctor. I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2000, but it took me years to get the diagnosis!!! Mainly because I had so few "symptoms". My only "real" symptoms are hirsuitism and infertility. My OB/GYN that was I was going to at the time just kept telling me that since I had one child, there obviously wasn't a problem. It didn't matter that it had taken us a while to conceive him. She just kept looking at the fact that my AF was normal, I was thin, etc. I finally left her and went to another OB/GYN. My very first visit with him he told me that he thought I had PCOS. He did blood work, which, believe it or not, came back normal! After much testing he finally did an internal sonogram and my ovaries were covered with the cysts! And I finally had my official dianosis. So....you never know. Really pursue it! As for the met question...I don't know. I was never put on any type of medication for anything. I just did 6 rounds of fertility meds. Nothing else. As for the low carb approach....again, I don't know. I have seen that many others have done it and have had great results. But, I have not gone that route. I guess I like my carbs too much!

I have a little weight to lose currently due to taking steroids a few years ago for an eye disease (the pounds really packed on extremely quickly!) and then taking the clomid. I have really struggled to get the weight off. Which is really weird for me since I have
never had a weight issue before. I generally weigh about 125, but gained 40 pounds through it all. I have lost down to 150 and am really trying to get back to my weight of 125. Hopefully this year I can!
Anyhow...I know that last part was just me blabbing, but I hope the other helped you may a little. Good luck!
