Hi everyone! I am new here. My story is that I was just diagnosed with PCOS in July '04. DH and I have unofficially been TTC since 10/03, but after going off of the pill 10/03, I never really got a period. I was on 50mg of clomid in May '04 and that is when they figured I had PCOS based on my u/s and some blood work indicating high testosterone levels (along with the amennorhea). Currently, I have just finished my 2nd round of clomid (100mg) and I am also taking dexamethasone. I am on CD 8 and am hoping and praying to atleast ovulate in a few days. I was wondering if anyone has ever taken the dexamethazone with clomid, and if so, any success? I am already so frustrated and I worry that this won't work. Any words of wisdom would be a huge help! I was so happy to hear that there were other thin cysters out there!!!!
Hello, I am new here too. I can't help you with the meds that you are on but I can give you hope with ttc. I took metformin and conceived in May of last year. The clomid didn't work for me but when I took the metformin alone it did. I will say a prayer for you! I hope someone is able to help you answer your question.

What is dexameth . . ????? I have not heard of this. So - sorry, can't help you out. Well - as for me - I tried Femara last month and didn't O - so now doc wants me to try Chlomid again (O'd 2x) since I just had the HSG test and cleaned the tubes out. No blockage thank God!! I think if things don't turn out positively this month I am ditching the OBG and trying an ER. What do you all think?
so you were on clomid before then and you O'd but no pregnancy? Which dose were you on? I was on clomid this month and O'd last Sunday (cd14) so now, I am in the dreaded 2ww. I am trying to remain hopeful, but realisitc. Dexamethasone is for high testosterone. I have not heard of anyone else on it though. When I went in for my follicle scan, the tech told me I had 3 mature follicles, so I am hoping that one of them was fertilized. It's 4dpo and I'm not really feeling any different, so I don't know if that's a bad sign or it's just early. if I were you, I would try the clomid again and then see the RE. My dr told me that it can take 6 months to get pg on clomid.. I am debating on seeing an RE soon too. I really don't want to have to go through IUI, but it seems like so many PCOS women get pg that way. We'll see. Keep me posted!
Well, I decided to try Chlomid once again and I actually O'd. My progesterone levels were extremely high for once. Do you all get them checked on day 21? Mine have normally been around .06 to 12 (I was told they need to be atleast 20). but this past month it reached 60! I got my hopes up too high though. It didn't work and I am so puzzled. I dumped the regular OBGYN and have an appointment with the RE/Fertility Specialist next week. Maybe she will have some answers. I have also heard that some difficulties may be due to pelvic position. Does anyone know about this?????
I have not heard about pelvic position, I have heard about the CM being hostile though and that can cause non-fertilization. I didn't even O this past month on the dex and clomid which was wierd b/c I did the month before on the exact same meds! I just had to take provera for af then start all over. I agree with the RE.. it's time to see one
I was diagnosed with PCOS a few weeks ago and just started taking dexamethasone this past Sunday. My testosterone level was normal but my DHEAS level was elevated(525), so that is why I was put on dex. Your DHEAS level needs to be less than 200 for pregnancy. Once I get this level down, then I will probably be taking a combo of dex and Clomid, but I'm not going to take the Clomid until the level goes down. My OB/GYN was the one who diagnosed me but if in a month when I go back to him I'm not seeing the results or think this may be over his head, I will go see an RE for a second opinion. I just turned 33 and hope to be PG before i turn 34.
a different Dr told me yesterday that they are trying to move away from dex for some reason. So she put me on metformin. I don't know what to think anymore!
I'm new here. I was diagnosed with PCOS in August and my doctor has put me on metformin. I have to get blood tests every month, but it seems like my levels are not going down. If this doesn't work, he wants to add clomid to the metformin. This is very frustrating, especially when insurance doesn't cover most of this, and my husband keeps worrying about money! I only have a few symptoms and people don't seem to understand when I tell them what's going on. The only response I get is that I need to calm down. Like I brought this on myself because it concerns me so much! It's nice to have a group that understands what I'm going through!
