Hi to everyone. Just been diagnosed with PCOS and hyperinsulinaemia; waiting for a referral to the endocrinologist at the local hospital. Anything I know about my problem has been picked up from websites like this. My dr. has been less than helpful or forthcoming. She has been telling me for months that my symptoms have either been caused by being very overweight and depressed, or that really, I'm just a little stressed and allowing myself to be overwhelmed by it. After repeat visits over and over again for the last 12 months, she grudgingly agreed to do some blood tests; results have just come back.

So while I'm waiting to see the specialist and start some treatment, any help or advice about diet or anything I can do would be very welcome.

Welcome Carol!!!
good to have you here, we're here to support and encourage you in your journey with pcos. i too had a similar problem with getting diagnosed, they always blamed it on my overweightness.....
anyway, browse through the threads and post all your questions, comments and we'll be happy to offer our advice. as far as diet goes, low carbing has been very successful with pcosers, but i guess you gotta find the ideal diet for your body. keep us posted on your progress and again....welcome Cyster!!!!
